2011 Bridgestone Invitational Picks
WGC Bridgestone Invitational Picks
Events of the quality of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational are extremely difficult to find a winner in. This week I'll be sticking right up the top end of the market and hope to have some bonus "To shoot lowest round" picks of the non cut event if the market is being offered.
Pick 1: Rory McIlroy E/W @ 14/1 (general) McIlroy's ability off the tee is what catches the eye in a WGC Bridgestone Invitational event where driving is key. Getting it out there into good position to access difficult pin positions is vital to success and I havn't seen a better display of driving than that of McIlroy at the US Open. T9 here last year and becoming familiar with the course.
GOLF TRADING: Great start for the trial golf trading advisory service last week with a 10.5unit profit to only a 7.5unit outlay. Click link for more details. This week I'll be trading the WGC Bridgestone. Pre tournament email to be sent out Wednesday tea time. You will need a Betfair account. See a sample of one of my trading strategies here.
Pick 2: Steve Stricker E/W @ 18/1 (general) Confidence flying, putting better than ever, standout record at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and ranking 16th in proximity to the hole on a course where approach accuracy plays a huge part, Stricker is a standout candidate. Right up there in bogey avoidance and scrambling stats.
Pick 3: Luke Donald E/W @ 20/1 (general) Record at the WGC Invitational doesn't read all that great but Donald has moved up a level this year. Along with Stricker, probably the two best putters in the world right now. Vital to stay out of the rough at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and get as close to pins as possible with approaches and Donald ranks 38th in driving accuracy and an eye catching 6th in proximity to the hole.
Pick 4: Dustin Johnson E/W @ 22/1 (general) Ranking 5th in driving distance in a WGC Bridgestone Invitational event where big hitters have monopolised the leaderboards down the years, Johnson is off the back of a T2nd at the Open and T6 at the Nordea Masters. 15th here last year and now seems a permanent fixture on leaderboards in the big events.
Note: If you're betting E/W, take advantage of Bet365's offer up to £200 in free bets to use on this week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational.
