GOLF BETTING: US MASTERS PICKS

US MASTERS 2010 Value Picks: Back to Preview

-1pt E/W Retief Goosen @ 25/1 (Ladbrokes) Goosen has returned to the form of old and is many top tipster's fancy this week. Has a fantastic record round Augusta at the US Masters, is near the top of the total driving stats and is 1 of the very best on fast and firm greens. In great current form and I have to make him my top Masters pick this week.....

Remember: For bigger value odds and/or the ability to trade your picks in running, a Betfair Exchange account is essential

-1pt E/W Steve Stricker @ 30/1 (W/H) Stricker is on the drift and at 30/1 I can't overlook him. He may not be at his very best this year so far but he's been practicing hard. Also has course form with a top 10 last year where he made mimimal mistakes. He is no.1 in all round ranking on the PGA Tour.

-1pt E/W Martin Kaymer @ 50/1 (general) As mentioned in my US Masters betting tips preview, I fancy Kaymer to become a golfing superstar and a multiple major winner. He has the game for Augusta and there's no reason why he can't win major no.1 this week.

-2.25pts Robert Allenby top 10 finish @ 7.2 (Betfair) Mr. Consistency on the PGA Tour has found a new touch with the putter in recent times and is a real dark horse for a major this year.

-1.75pts Lucas Glover Top 10 finish @ 11/1 (Betfair) Not fancied at all anywhere I've been but for me, he's one to watch this week. He moved up a level last year (winning a major in the process) and looked to be playing decent golf last time out. His Long and straight driving are what makes those odds look great.

What is expected Strokes Gained Course Fit ?

Bryan pioneered the concept of Expected Strokes Gained Course Fit (xSGF) in golf betting. xSGF can be predicted using my model below. For prospective golf betting tips it projects ahead of time how many shots a player is expected to pick up per round on average on a particular golf course. It's weighed against a neutral golf course of the same rating.

Golf Betting Tips Model

Input up to date player and course data (from the upcoming course fit manual 2024) into this interactive golf betting model. My course fit profiling model for golf betting tips uses highly evolved golf nuance and betting intuition, precise parameters and inputs based on Bayesian analysis, plus years of empirical evidence through observing, betting and documenting golf and stats.

What is Progressive Form in Golf Betting?

Progressive form in golf betting differs from current form in that players are showing a trend in the right direction in their recent scoring. Trending form has a high predictive value in golf betting and can also catch players under the radar at an inflated price vs their true betting odds.
