Key features - designed by Colin Montgomerie who was short off the tee and prefers a fade, this track offers many "strategic options". "Mix of pine forest and sandy ridges". Back nine is tighter than the front. Large undulating greens and average width, contoured, pristine fairways. Numerous water hazards.

Paul Waring opened as high as 66/1 in the sportsbooks which was brilliant value. Unfortunately it doesn't last too long these days but EW quotes of 45- 50/1 are still about and as high as 5/1 on a top 10. Waring has now hit top form for the season with no worse a finish than 30th across his last 7 events which included a t3 at ST. Andrews. He recorded a t8 at Sheshan last week at the WGC with sandwiched rounds of 65 and 66. With ball striking stats including a rank of 19th in strokes gained: tee to green and 3rd in greens in reg, he looks a good fit for the Montgomerie Maxx. Kiradech Aphibarnrat 50/1 always gets my attention on a track where par 5 performance is key. The Thai isn't having a great season but he was 25th in par 5 performance in 2018. He comes into the Turkish Airlines Open off the back of 4x 69s at the CJ cup for a T8 finish. He was 3rd last time the Turkish Airlines Open was played on the Montgomerie Maxx Royal in 2015, finishing on a total of -20 under par.
