Tour Championship and Open dItalia Picks

Back to winning ways on the blog last week as Zach Johnson and Luke Donald brought home the returns, as well as a successful in running round 4 trade on my Twitter .

It's the final event of the Playoffs as the Tour championship takes centre stage and we have a new venue for the Italian Open. All picks and staking plan for the Open dItalia are now live on the profit and loss spreadsheet which is now showing a 45% profit on turnover for the year 2013. I'm hoping to add a couple of "to shoot lowest round" picks for the Tour championship if that market is available, and full previews for both this and the Open dItalia will be up on my Unibet golf column as per usual later in the week.

Please note that the final phase of the members mailing list will begin next week and that means the majority of my picks will only be available early (and at best prices) to those on the list from now until the season end in late November. Picks will be available to all on the spreadsheet Wednesday evenings. You can sign up to the mailing list here.

What is expected Strokes Gained Course Fit ?

Bryan pioneered the concept of Expected Strokes Gained Course Fit (xSGF) in golf betting. xSGF can be predicted using my model below. For prospective golf betting tips it projects ahead of time how many shots a player is expected to pick up per round on average on a particular golf course. It's weighed against a neutral golf course of the same rating.

Golf Betting Tips Model

Input up to date player and course data (from the upcoming course fit manual 2024) into this interactive golf betting model. My course fit profiling model for golf betting tips uses highly evolved golf nuance and betting intuition, precise parameters and inputs based on Bayesian analysis, plus years of empirical evidence through observing, betting and documenting golf and stats.

What is Progressive Form in Golf Betting?

Progressive form in golf betting differs from current form in that players are showing a trend in the right direction in their recent scoring. Trending form has a high predictive value in golf betting and can also catch players under the radar at an inflated price vs their true betting odds.
