WGC Accenture Matchplay Preview and Guide

The WGC Accenture Matchplay at Dove Mountain is the only main tour golf we have to sink our teeth into this week and rather than focus on individual picks on the blog, I'm going to concentrate more on a strategy I regularly use to exploit the value on the exchanges in this type of format. Quite simply, anything can happen in matchplay events; not many players - whoever they are - will perform in every round they play and this means that unless they are lucky enough to have their opponent endure an off day too, they're out.

There won't be any emails this week for the Accenture world Matchplay but yet again the service produced great profits last week with Darren Fichardt advised at 40/1 winning in SA and blog picks Freddy Jacobsen and Bill Haas placing at Riviera. Webb Simpson was also advised six places with Stanjames so took in a DH tie with Josh Teater. I know a few of you got a great trade in on Da Silva in SA as well. After this week there will be only five weeks left in the first period of the mailing service so I'm reducing the minimum donation to £5 if you would like to be added to the list until the end of March.

Back to the Accenture Matchplay and you you will need an account with Betfair to try this and it is appreciated if you go through my aff links. I like to target one, possibly two players from each bracket and dutch them for the outright win (if two from one bracket, take 1 from each end). I focus on the outsiders where you will get very silly odds. Should one of your selections reach the semi final, you should have the option to trade out for a nice profit.

I will have some of my shorter priced WGC Accenture World Matchplay fancies as well as these longshots from each bracket posted up in previews for various sites later in the week and will add links here as and when available - My WGC Matchplay fave and four big ew prices for the brackets for NCGM: Matchplay preview

What is expected Strokes Gained Course Fit ?

Bryan pioneered the concept of Expected Strokes Gained Course Fit (xSGF) in golf betting. xSGF can be predicted using my model below. For prospective golf betting tips it projects ahead of time how many shots a player is expected to pick up per round on average on a particular golf course. It's weighed against a neutral golf course of the same rating.

Golf Betting Tips Model

Input up to date player and course data (from the upcoming course fit manual 2024) into this interactive golf betting model. My course fit profiling model for golf betting tips uses highly evolved golf nuance and betting intuition, precise parameters and inputs based on Bayesian analysis, plus years of empirical evidence through observing, betting and documenting golf and stats.

What is Progressive Form in Golf Betting?

Progressive form in golf betting differs from current form in that players are showing a trend in the right direction in their recent scoring. Trending form has a high predictive value in golf betting and can also catch players under the radar at an inflated price vs their true betting odds.
