Premier League Top Goal Scorer 2010 / 11

After Darren Bent's 22/1 success for us last year in the goalscorer (handicap) market, I've been looking for some value again this year. There doesn't seem to be any books offering the handicap Premier League top goal scorer market so I'll look for some bigger odds players further down the list of the main market in the hope of them getting a place or who knows, even better....

It's hard to look past the top 3 or 4 in the betting but with Drogba, Torres and Van Persie very injury prone players and them as well as Rooney likely to be rested before certain European games, there's value to be had especially in terms of an E/W place in this year's Premier League top goal scorer betting market.

Selections Offering Value:

Pick 1: Dimitar Berbatov E/W @ 40/1 (Boylesports 1/4 odds places 1-4) A very surprising pick some of you might be thinking but with all the pressure off him now that all the attention is focusing on new man Javier Hernandez, this could be the season where the real Berbatov comes to the fore. Kicked off nicely last week with a confidence boosting goal in the Community Shield and one to watch this year for me.

Pick 2: Andrei Arshavin E/W @ 50/1 (Paddypower places 1-4 1/4 odds) No doubting the quality of this man and now that he's settled, don't be surprised to see him set the English Premier League alight this season. Brilliant finisher.

What is expected Strokes Gained Course Fit ?

Bryan pioneered the concept of Expected Strokes Gained Course Fit (xSGF) in golf betting. xSGF can be predicted using my model below. For prospective golf betting tips it projects ahead of time how many shots a player is expected to pick up per round on average on a particular golf course. It's weighed against a neutral golf course of the same rating.

Input up to date player and course data (from the upcoming course fit manual 2024) into this interactive golf betting model. My course fit profiling model for golf betting tips uses highly evolved golf nuance and betting intuition, precise parameters and inputs based on Bayesian analysis, plus years of empirical evidence through observing, betting and documenting golf and stats.

What is Progressive Form in Golf Betting?

Progressive form in golf betting differs from current form in that players are showing a trend in the right direction in their recent scoring. Trending form has a high predictive value in golf betting and can also catch players under the radar at an inflated price vs their true betting odds.
