GOLF BETTING - AT&T PEBBLE BEACH PICKS

The PGA golf tour heads to Pebble Beach in California this week where the players tee it up at the AT & T Pebble Beach National Pro-am, where an in form and current defending champion Dustin Johnson looks the man to beat with the lack of form of bookie's favourite Phil Mickelson. With Johnson's record on this course and the way he played last week I can't overlook him in the AT & T Pebble Beach National betting even if the value is a little thinner than usual at betting odds of 25/1. The Pebble Beach Pro-am will be played accross 3 short but difficult enough courses with the Pebble Beach Golf Links the main focus. The short nature of the courses, the small well bunkered greens and the premium of course management make it a venue a certain Jim Furyk could thrive on. Furyk is expecting a big season this year after finishing last year with a bang. The main focus on place betting will be on the golfers with strong California connections as the home players tend to thrive..... stay tuned for Expert value betting AT & T National Picks

-1pt E/W Jim furyk @ 22/1 (sportingbet) Very solid last week in his first event of the season. Good record on this course and ready to challenge after shaking off the early season rust.

-1pt E/W Dustin Johnson @ 25/1 (general) Defending champ here(albeit over 3 rounds last year due to bad weather), would have won last week if not for a terrible third round and can over power these courses.

-1.75pts Steve Marino Top 10 finish @ 11/2(Skybet, William Hill) Gradually getting better in early season and 1 of the streakiest players on tour. Claims to be getting to grips with the new grooves. Will attack the pins and make a lot of birdies.

-2.5pts Paul Goydos Top 20 finish @ 5/1 (Paddypower) Finished last week superbly, born in California and used to the greens that a lot of pros struggle on. Not a great recent record here but he usually doesn't play the week before and is therefore usually rusty.

-1.75pts Charlie Hoffman Top 20 finish @ 9/2(Paddypower) Again, born in California and used to the playing conditions here. Decent performance last week and will enjoy the fun of pro-am events.

-0.5pts Mark o' Meara top 20 finish @ 33/1 (skybet) O' Meara is really only a part time player now but in the relaxed atmosphere of a pro-am and an event he's won 5 times, a small value bet is definitely worth it here. (added 2:20 Tue feb 9th)

What is expected Strokes Gained Course Fit ?

Bryan pioneered the concept of Expected Strokes Gained Course Fit (xSGF) in golf betting. xSGF can be predicted using my model below. For prospective golf betting tips it projects ahead of time how many shots a player is expected to pick up per round on average on a particular golf course. It's weighed against a neutral golf course of the same rating.

Golf Betting Tips Model

Input up to date player and course data (from the upcoming course fit manual 2024) into this interactive golf betting model. My course fit profiling model for golf betting tips uses highly evolved golf nuance and betting intuition, precise parameters and inputs based on Bayesian analysis, plus years of empirical evidence through observing, betting and documenting golf and stats.

What is Progressive Form in Golf Betting?

Progressive form in golf betting differs from current form in that players are showing a trend in the right direction in their recent scoring. Trending form has a high predictive value in golf betting and can also catch players under the radar at an inflated price vs their true betting odds.
