Golf: Sleepers/Ones To Watch 09/10

When you study the golf tours in so much detail as I do, you come across all sorts of raw talent, stumble across all sorts of trends(Eg. players that are gash in the early part of the season and start flying later on) and obviously certain players that perform above themselves on certain types of courses etc. and I've found myself writing up a shortlist of players that are going to grab me a nice windfall by going under the bookie's radar and being priced up at whopper prices when the grab their maiden/next long awaited victory.

Here are a few that I've pegged for wins at good prices in the near future:

Alexander Noren - Immense talent, big hitter and fantastic Iron player. Capable of going VERY low when the putter is on form.

Matthew Goggin - The performance in the open may have gotten the bookies attention but there will still be some big prices to be had on the PGA tour and trust me it won't be long until victory.

Oliver wilson - Amazingly, you can still get 40-50's on Wilson in certain middle of the road Euro tour tournaments. He has too many 2nd places to count and will win many times.

Bo van pelt was another but he's just won but the guy he beat in the playoff John Mallinger is a big talent.

Jeev singh - Super all round player, ball striking, putting, cool head, you name it, he has it and will be priced up big by the bookmakers

Thomas aiken - Bit of an enigma, never know what you're going to get. -7 1 day, + 7 the next but he's honing his skills and WHAT a talent. Winner 9 times on the sunshine tour, he will be also priced up big until he wins (which will be soon - maybe this week at the SAS Masters)

Steve Marino - I have him pegged for a nice windfall this year and he'll tide you over with places until he gets it. Great ball striker(length and accuracy off the tee) and no.1 in birdie making stats on the tour last year. Very straky player and still only in his 20's. Watch out for him.

Fabricio Zanotti - South American is going to win soon at a MASSIVE price

What is expected Strokes Gained Course Fit ?

Bryan pioneered the concept of Expected Strokes Gained Course Fit (xSGF) in golf betting. xSGF can be predicted using my model below. For prospective golf betting tips it projects ahead of time how many shots a player is expected to pick up per round on average on a particular golf course. It's weighed against a neutral golf course of the same rating.

Golf Betting Tips Model

Input up to date player and course data (from the upcoming course fit manual 2024) into this interactive golf betting model. My course fit profiling model for golf betting tips uses highly evolved golf nuance and betting intuition, precise parameters and inputs based on Bayesian analysis, plus years of empirical evidence through observing, betting and documenting golf and stats.

What is Progressive Form in Golf Betting?

Progressive form in golf betting differs from current form in that players are showing a trend in the right direction in their recent scoring. Trending form has a high predictive value in golf betting and can also catch players under the radar at an inflated price vs their true betting odds.
