A full breakdown of my 2013 winners can be seen on the 2013 spreadsheet (+188pts)

Click here for a breakdown of my 2012 golf results (includes Unibet picks) courtesy of @RetfordPaul on Twitter (+237.79 units)

2012 winners below

Thomas Bjorn @ 66/1 (place) - It looked like we were well on the way to another huge priced under the radar winner at the Singapore Open but Thomas somewhat capitulated in the weather delays but secured us 1/4 of the odds none the less.

Peter Hanson @ 40/1 (win) - I thought the days of an in form Peter Hanson being priced up so generously in events such as the BMW Masters were well gone but as they say "don't look a gift horse in the mouth", and he returns us another 40/1 winner.

Branden Grace (win) secured a 50/1 win over on my Unibet golf column to complete part one of a potentially lucrative weekend but unfortunately 66/1 Brendon De Jonge fell a shot short at the Shriners, losing out to home boy Ryan Moore but the place at 16.5/1 rounded up a nice weekend. De Jonge traded around the evens mark for those playing the exchanges.

The word I used for the 14/1 about Santi Cazorla (the man who's netted the most times from outside the area the last two years through the five biggest European leaagues) to score from outside the box in the London derby was "inexplicable". The Arsenal man proved why with a swerving piledriver into the top corner of Westham's net.

Ryan Moore (place) had all the attributes to make the staking plan for the Deutsche Bank sleeper pick. He opened with a 64 to give us 25/1 place returns for first round leader and came in to 10.0 at one stage on the exchanges to complete a huge back to lay trade for us.

Rory McIlroy (win) may have been a short priced tip for the PGA Championship at 20/1 but the setup of the course justified him being the headline in my eyes. He didn't disappoint as he followed up Bradley's 66/1 success the week before with another winner for us.

John Daly 125/1 Andres Romero 50/1 (places) - Reno Tahoe were two of seven fancied to take advantage of the new stableford scoring and they did just that with Romero finishing third and Daly a T5.

Keegan Bradley 66/1 (win) - Bridgestone Invitational another huge price winner for Nicspicks as one of four sleepers for the Bridgestone, tipped largely due to his performance on the greens here last year, pipped Furyk at the post, with the belly putter coming to fruition.

Rafa Cabrera Bello - WGC Bridgestone advised at 150/1 e/w in the first round leader market and as a good potential back to lay trade at 300
.0, RCB obliged with a share of the spoils after round 1 and trading at 12.0 after R2.

Alex Noren 70/1 (place)- Scottish Open Alex missed an 18 inch'er on the last in Scotland which would have seen him in a playoff but a nice price on the place none the less.

Brian Harman - John Deere Classic was advised at 100/1 ew in the FRL market due to his proximity to the hole stat and ability to go low. He recorded a dead heat place.

Jim Furyk 35/1 (place) - US Open It looked in the bag for Jim but he came unstuck down the stretch and weighed in with a place. It wasn't to be another major winner for Nicspicks that week.

Thomas Bjorn 50/1 (place)- Wales Open One of just two picks in Wales, Thomas came up a shot shy for a T2. 12.5/1 on the place odds a consolation prize.

Marc Leishman (place) - HP Byron Nelson Expected blustery conditions in Texas brought my attention to 90/1 Marc Leishman at 90/1. He came close and grabbed us a big odds place.

Martin Laird 150/1 (place) - Players Championship - Came oh so close to our second 150/1 winner in a month when he just stumbled down the last few and finishished second.

Ben Curtis 150/1 (win) - Texas Open Big sleeper pick for the Valero Texas Open who was noted for some sneaky form in Europe and top putting skills gave us one of our biggest ever wins on Nicspicks as the putter lived up to expectation.

Justin Rose 33/1 (DH place) - Honda Classic Rose tends to excel around this track and he came in T5 to bring in more profits.

Another great week in the golf with 50/1 Keegan Bradley almost making it 4 big priced tournament winners from 6 events covered on the blog in 2012 so far. Beaten in a playoff by Bill Haas but Jimmy Walker made up for that, tipped at 100/1 e/w for his ability on tougher courses, Walker made an unlikely birdie on the last to tie 4th.

50/1 tip Paul Lawrie came out on top in the sandstorm at the Qatar Masters, just pipping fellow e/w tip Peter Hanson to top spot.

At the Farmers Insurance Open, 25/1 pick Brandt Snedeker took advantage of a 72nd hole capitulation by Kyle Stanley to eventually win in a playoff

Branden Grace (35/1) tipped to continue on his superb weekend play from the previous week did just that as he took down the Joburg Open to start 2012 as we left off in 2011

2009-2011 Big Winners:

Alvaro Quiros who I urged all week to be backed at 45/1 with Bet365 due to the big Spaniard ticking every single box, took down the Dubai World Championship. That victory also saw us get an 8/1 return on an antepost Quiros bet while Peter Hanson also took down a 9/1 place in Dubai.

Hennie otto (33/1), tipped for his strong form on home soil
continued his progressive form at the South African Open Championship by returning us another winner. Thomas Aiken also returned an 8/1 place to add to previous places for Van Zyl and Coetzee on a very lucrative South African swing for Nicspicks.

The big winners kept coming on my break from Nicspicks as my Twitter tip Greg Chalmers at 55/1 did the business in Australia.

The Lucrative HSBC Championship proved the same for Nicspicks as 25/1 tip Martin Kaymer produced the goods, and not for the first time on the blog. 50/1 tip Paul Casey also earned a share of the places.

In my mini break from Nicspicks, the big winners didn't stop as Jimenez(70.0) and Ramsey(80.0), two of my six Twitter tips for the Andalucia Masters, tipped for their accurate play around the tight Valderamma course, finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Luis Suarez, tipped to be the centre of attention in the Merseyside derby was more than just that as he won a 16/1 penalty as well as a 5/1 Man Of The Match award vs Everton, for Nicspicks.

Peter Crouch, tipped to benefit from Stokes aerial bombardment on Man UTD, did just that as he headed home an 11/1 winner from a corner at the Britannia

1/4 return from a 66/1 shot at the KLM open where David Lynn was tipped to shine due to course and current form.

Edin Dzeko, tipped for his aerial ability, banged in a superb 7/1 header v in Manchester City's demolition of Spurs.

Steve Webster, 80/1 sleeper pick for the Czech Open where he has a standout record once again earned himself a share of the places

66/1 tip David Toms returned to the scene of his major success at the USPGA Championships and the memories obviously spurred him on as he earned a high priced place at 1/4 of the odds

Brilliant week in the golf as 2 tips, Dyson 28/1 and Green (33/1) go head to head down the stretch for the Irish Open. Big returns on the PGA tour as well on my Twitter and in my email services as Haas, Kim, Walker and De Jonge secure nice profits.

Alex Noren, 28/1 tip for his home Swedish Open as well as 33/1 tip for first round leader (which he shared) holds up in high winds on Sunday to bring us big tournament profits

66/1 Nicolas Colsaerts grabs himself a share of the places at a Scottish Open that was cut to 3 rounds due to adverse weather conditions

11/1 tip Edivaldo Rojas, tipped on Twitter purely on a pricing misjudgement by Bet365, takes advantage for Nicspicks as he nets for Bolivia v Argentina

55/1 tip Johan Edfors holed a monster eagle putt on the 72nd hole at the Wales Open to earn himself a share of the places alongside fellow tip Peter Hanson

40/1 tip for Premier League Top goal scorer, Dimitar Berbatov has to settle for a share in the end but traded around 1.2 on the exchanges for a long part of the season.

Unbelievable week in the golf as 35/1 pick David Toms wins at Colonial, with 22/1 pick Z. Johnson placing as well as Michael Hoey and Jamie Elson, 2 of my 6 tips on Twitter (at big prices) finish 1 and 2 respectively in Madiera

"Bubba Golf" came to the fore at the Zurich Classic as Bubba Watson, only competing because of his mam and tipped at 30/1, continues a great run for Nic's Picks

50/1 Tip Nicolas Colsaerts adds to the 2011 profits as he takes down the Volvo China Open in style

It was a 75/1 David Horsey and 50/1 Rhys Davies double act at the Trophee Hassan as the former beat the latter in a playoff to rocket the 2011 profits even further after a great last week. Almost 100units profit to 1unit E/W stakes with the Horsey win and Davies place, making a near 150 units profit over the last 2 weeks

Season 2011 golf betting really takes off in late March as 40/1 Martin Laird (win) and 33/1 Justin Rose (place) secure huge profits for Nic's Picks at the Arnold Palmer Invitational

Tipped for his potential to overpower the Blue Monster course at Doral, Nick Watney didn't let us down as he took down the title @ 22/1. 25/1 Matt Kuchar also finished in the places.

YE Yang, tipped for his fantasic record at the Honda Classic @ 45/1 carries on his great tournament form, only missing out on the win by 1 shot for a place at just over 11/1.

A very profitable game for Nic's picks as Arsenal defeated Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League clash where Villa and Van Persie both tipped on Nic's Picks Facebook as overpriced to score and worth a sneaky bet for the 8/1 double both found the back of the net

A good week in the golf betting for Nic's Picks as Luke Donald tipped @ 8/1 wins his bracket in the WGC and went on to win the tournament, while in Mexico, Spencer Levin tipped @ 27's tied for 1st at the Mayakoba and traded as low as 1.45 mid way through the final round.

Brede Hangeland, tipped for his threat from set pieces against a physically weak spurs side and super price of 16/1 to hit the back of the net didn't disappoint as Fulham thumped Spurs 4-0 in the FA cup

22/1 and 33/1 picks Jimenez and Peter Hanson only finished 2nd to Paul Casey in the Volvo Masters and the golf traders among us had a lovely pay out with Hanson at 1 stage reaching as low as 1.4 on the exchanges

Decent beginning to the 2011 golf season as Charl Schwartzel (11), Jaco Van Zyl(33) and Robert Rock (55) all place on the African golf swing and Matt Kuchar (18) finishes tied 5th in the Sony Open

Graeme McDowell, antepost E/W pick @ 80's for the Race To Dubai couldn't quite make it but 20/1 on a 2nd place will do me.

50/1 pick and 1st round leader Robert karlsson recovers from a poor second round to beat Ian Poulter in a playoff for the Dubai World Championships

20/1 tip Jim Fuyrk holds out in tough conditions to take down the Tour Championship and Fedex Cup

Matt Kuchar continues a good run for Nic's Picks, picking up The Barclay's at 40/1

Joey Barton tipped @ 10/1 to be first booked vs UTD at old Trafford gets the 2010/11 football betting season off to a good start

Martin Kaymer bags a huge 55/1 win for Nic's Picks as he beats Bubba Watson in a playoff for his first major title at the USPGA championship

Ross Fisher, 20/1 tip for the Irish Open, takes control in the second round with a fantastic -10 and goes on to claim his 4th title.

40/1 pick for the British Open, Paul Casey, has a terrible last round but still brings in a 10/1 place for Nic's Picks

Bayern Munich, 28/1 antepost tips for the champions league were undone in the final but 1/2 the odds @ 14's is a good return for Nic's Picks on the champions league

Diego Milito, tipped as the potential key man in the Champions League final, didn't let us down as he bagged a brace at 11/1 and secured the man of the match award @ 7/1 for Nic's Picks

Adam Scott, tipped @ 22/1 to soon be back to winning ways before the Valero Texas Open, needs only 4 days to make it happen as he goes really low in a 36 hole Sunday to win once again

Local man Jimmy Walker used his course knowledge really well at his local San Antonio course in the Valero Texas Open. Tipped E/W at a whopping 140/1 and for a top 10 finish @ 18/1, he finishes in a tie for 3rd

Ben Crane, 80/1 E/W tip for The Players places @ 20/1 in a strong field

At the BMW Italian Open, Nicolas Colsaerts came close but couldn't quite do it on the final day. 15/1 was a great price on the place

Darren Bent, antepost tip for Top Premier League scorer (with handicap) uses that massive 11 goal start to make the bookmakers look a bit silly for pricing him up at 22/1

Almeria v Villarreal, tipped as a potentially very open game, producing chances for Kalu Uche, lived up to it's billing as Uche netted a 17/1 brace for Nic's Picks in a 4-2 victory for Almeria

Darrent Bent tipped to come back to haunt Harry Redknapp did just that as he hit a brace at 13/1 to help Sunderland stuff Spurs

20/1 Ernie Els makes it 2 on the spin for Nic's Picks as he holds on to win his second Arnold Palmer Invitational

Rhys Davies, 33/1 pick for the Trophy Hasan II put in a phenomenal 4 round performance totaling -25 to win the tournament by 2 over Louis Oosthuizen

Kevin Streelman, 60/1 pick for the Puerto rico Open blows a 3 stroke advantage leading into the last round but 15/1 on a place can't be sniffed at.

Special in in-running betting on day 1 at Cheltenham yields a profit of almost 13pts speared by a 12/1 winner in Menorah in the very forst race of the festival

Dustin johnson - 25/1 headline pick for the AT&T National just holds on for victory after a poor last round, beating both David Duval and J.B Holmes by 1 stroke courtesy of a birdie at the last

Michael Owen makes it a great champions league round 6. Tipped to score @ 12/5, tipped for a brace @ 20/1 and even mentioned for a hattrick @ 100/1 vs wolfsburg duely obliged by bagging 3 goals

Simon yates, 66/1 massively overpriced pick for the King's cup lets the bookie's off after yet another playoff loss for Nic's Picks this year. 17.5/1 on a place numbs the pain a little though.

Tipped as "Big value underdogs" for the WGC world cup of golf, the 16/1 Molinari brothers didn't disappoint as they rallied on the back nine to pip Sweden and Ireland by 1 stroke

40/1 headline pick for the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan was comeback man Robert Karlsson. Himself and Eduardo Molinari blitzed the field by 6 shots but unfortunately the latter got the better in the playoff. 10/1 on the place leaves you with a sour taste in the mouth, especially as it adds to a long line of playoff losses for Nic's Picks this year but it's better than nothing.

Place value was the primary focus at the Portugal masters and Germany's Marcel Siem came up trumps finishing tied 4th to grab Nic's Picks followers 1/4 of the whopping 125/1 odds

40/1 and 25/1 picks Perry and Ogilvy who Nic's Picks tipped to go low in the Tour championship duly obliged, both shooting the low round of the week (-6), sky rocketing September's profits

Rollins wins in Reno -33/1 pick John rollins produced a convincing performance @ the Reno Tahoe Open to keep the profits rolling(excuse the pun) in

Larrazabal - strong start in Sweden - Pablo Larrazabal finsihed in a tie for 3rd place at the half way cut in the SAS masters netting Nic's Pick's followers 1/4 of the whopping 125/1 odds

- 50/1 pick Bo Van Pelt breaks his duck on the PGA tour with a fantastic final round (-6) and playoff victory over fellow tip John mallinger in the US Bank championship in milwaukee

- 25/1 pick Marcus Berg rifles in 7 goals in 4 games to capture the top goalscorer gong in the European U21 championships, blowing away any challengers. Don't be surprised to see him wearing the red and white of Ajax next season.

- 50/1 headline pick Brian Gay lead from wire-to-wire to demolish the field at the ST. Jude Classic in Memphis

- 45/1 pick Sean o' Hair came out of a tightly packed field to hold on for a fantastic win at Quail Hollow

- 55/1 tip Thomas Levet put in a near flawless performance in Spain to win by a couple of shots

Bryan Nicholson is the pioneer of the progressive form and course fit ratings for golf betting, with the associated progressive form model and course fit profiling model. Bryan is the author of the annual course fit profiling manual and #1 golf betting book Angles & Edges.

What is expected Strokes Gained Course Fit ?

Bryan pioneered the concept of Expected Strokes Gained Course Fit (xSGF) in golf betting. xSGF can be predicted using my model below. For prospective golf betting tips it projects ahead of time how many shots a player is expected to pick up per round on average on a particular golf course. It's weighed against a neutral golf course of the same rating.

Golf Betting Tips Model

Input up to date player and course data (from the upcoming course fit manual 2024) into this interactive golf betting model. My course fit profiling model for golf betting tips uses highly evolved golf nuance and betting intuition, precise parameters and inputs based on Bayesian analysis, plus years of empirical evidence through observing, betting and documenting golf and stats.

What is Progressive Form in Golf Betting?

Progressive form in golf betting differs from current form in that players are showing a trend in the right direction in their recent scoring. Trending form has a high predictive value in golf betting and can also catch players under the radar at an inflated price vs their true betting odds.
